1930's Art Deco home

A kitchen and bathroom renovation were the focus for this 1930’s Art Deco home in Melbourne’s bayside suburbs. Sharing similar visions, our client worked hand in hand with our Senior Designer, Beata Brzozowska.

An internal brick wall was knocked down to create this ideal living space, to include a galley style kitchen, dining and lounge room, extending to an outdoor area. New timber look floor tiles were laid in the area, whilst the rear wall was replaced with black framed windows and sliding stacker doors, which tie in with the theme of the home and frame the greenery of the backyard landscape.
A stunning design outcome resulted with this sophisticated space setting the scene perfectly for long lunches or the ultimate dinner party.

To service the guests the bathroom was also updated, evolving from an outdated segregated room to a more well defined layout, with a moody colour palette, providing design cohesion between the two newly renovated rooms. To open up the space, the team removed some internal brick walls which allowed for a large walk in shower, with a fabulous full length self between the two walls, for storage and display space.

We love the dark brick subway tiles, as they frame the decorative lead light window, a subtle nod to the era of this wonderful home.
