Waltham Jewel - Contemporary Lifestyle and a Heritage Feel
Waltham Jewel is an amazing transformation of a derelict dwelling into a contemporary home, beautifully restoring historic architecture while adding contemporary sculpted forms.
Despite the minimalist approach, the project never feels ‘cold’ or tight, thanks to choice of materials and carefully considered details, like the veneered upholstered window seat providing views to the northern outdoor living space with its vertical garden, or the concealed water tank that appears as a planter box continuing the external built-in seats.
Environmental aspects define the project, from clever design, through active systems like solar HW, up to the selection of materials based on their impact on sustainability.
