Black is great - best colour kitchen in my opinion. The key is to make the splashback light or reflective e.g windows are great because it brings light in, or mirrored splashback.

trying get a vision on suggested texture/colour
I like the contrast of dark, light and timber, but the whole effect would be too dark. I also like the ceiling bulkhead that creates the zone
Like the timber/charcoal finishes as well as the drawers
I think we'll have to have some darker cabinetry if we decide on lighter flooring
