Notes re. cabinet widths
Looking for examples of white appliances, with thought of re-using existing. Like the dramatic look of the cabinets, maybe a darker/less-green color? Really like the contrast between the dishwasher & cabinets, would use white for upper cabinets and probably backsplash (maybe blue accent line in the backsplash to provide a transition from the heavy solid color lower to upper white)
like: cabinet faces, range hood, toe kick lighting (too hot, but that's probably exaggerated in the photo) dislike dark floor, backslash, paint color.
Like the warmth of the wood surface, like the idea of storage under the breakfast bar, but don't know what it would be used for, as it opens onto the dining room side (ie., no good for everyday utensils)
Like the textured glass and plain wood work (the slightly inset floating plinth -- probably hiding glare from under-cabinet lighting) is a nice touch. The cabinets come down too far -- prefer something that's higher -- good for less frequent use, but less of a visual obstruction while standing. Possibly a lighter color wood -- match the floors?
Like the pull-out work surface -- could be a nice option if the countertops are crowded (appliances) or surfaced w. laminate or other non-knife-friendly material.
Really like the texture of the brick, use of brick & wood. Could be a nice insert on the Tower St side (north, right side when looking from dining room to kitchen) once the wall is opened.
Really like the fact that the narrow end of the cabinet above the island is also glass, rather than solid. Don't love the flying moulding.
Like the color accents on appliances, fairly plain cabinets, like the glass-front cabinets, like the accent strip below the crown moulding (the blue wall on the right is too much)
like the lower Wood cabinets and blue accents. Like the floor -- not wood, not tile, somewhat mottled (good for disguising kitchen grime!)
like the contrast re. oven door. possible option if we keep the existing white appliances ...change out or custom paint oven door
double-sided, in kitchen and over open wall -- good storage for infrequently used/not ugly food items (decorative salad bowls), vases, etc. width of living room, frame opening beam,. deep for cookbooks, large salad bowl' etc. lighting in and underneath cabinet, wineglass rack over breakfast bar. lights over eating area to echo the dining room fixture.
Like the visible planks on the cabinet faces, but whitewashed rather than dark wood. Texture, but not heavily decorated.
Nice mix of wood & stainless, maybe too contemporary
too much, but an example of using the blue accent from master bath in the kitchen as well

Nice idea, don't know if it's practical, or if the sliding drain surface would always be in the "open" (dtain) position,.
we prefer undermount, but the stainless + integrated backsplash are nice & low-maintenance
like the storage and the clean lines on the cabinets
modern bar pulls on Shaker cabinets. Stainless to match appliances & hood.
