Chief Sub-Editor and Writer, Houzz Australia and New Zealand. I love design and architecture that is thoughtful, sophisticated and champions an element of the unexpected. Before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts at UNSW and becoming a journalist, I studied interior architecture. For over a decade I have interviewed inspiring creative minds from around the world to write about design in its many different forms. Recently, I have also become an accidental gardener, to everyone's surprise.

There’s something luxurious about a well-considered walk-in-wardrobe that’s a cut above the rest. It takes what is essentially a storage space and elevates it into a sanctuary. Here are 21 dreamy spaces to pore over, for various reasons. Some are designed to show off their owner’s sartorial style, others showcase the best of interior design, and many simply offer a handsome hideaway away from the hustle and bustle of the home.

@Mary171155, your wardrobe sounds amazing. I think if you keep the handbags and shoes in the bags/boxes with some moisture absorbent bags ( I think they may be silica gel), this may help! Although with tropical climate perhaps you need something like the climate controlled cabinet in #9🥴
Agree that the examples here are unlimited by space and normal budget constraints but it is nice to dream😉. Also agree that I have never understood the craze for open shelving and hanging space. We had this in a previous house and I ended up covering clothes to protect them from dust😱
This build has taken over two years to complete and we are not finished yet. I hate to think what all my clothes will be like when I get them out of the storage boxes they have been in for two years. :( . I was thinking that the open shelving and hanging space will let them air out better. All our other built in wardrobes are fully built in. It is only the master bedroom's wardrobe that has been left open, because of the size of it.
While they are all beautiful the excess makes me cringe!
