One of the easiest ways to bring your kitchen into the 21st century is to weave in a stylish splashback, but where do you start? The one you choose can completely transform your kitchen’s look so take care in your decision-making. Do you want to give your kitchen a luxurious edge, an industrial leaning, or a chilled-out vibe in line with the rest of your home? These on-trend ideas will give you just the inspiration you need to figure out what to choose for your dream kitchen.
Pearly whites. Mosaic splashbacks can work in any style of kitchen, and when they’re as shimmery as these, they also add a luxurious edge.
Penny rounds. These tiles are taking bathrooms by storm, and now they’re making a subtle statement in gorgeous kitchens.
Texture rich. Who would have thought stacked stone would find its way into contemporary kitchens? This kitchen is a great example of just how good it can look.
Scattered effect. Who says splashbacks have to be a uniform pattern? This geometric design uses colour and form to create a look that’s interesting without being too out there.
Glass house. What’s not to like about a glass splashback? It lets in loads of light, invites the outside in and, what’s more, is super easy to clean.
Mirror image. A splashback like this bounces light around the room and can make a kitchen feel far bigger than it really is. Genius.
Tile smarts. When a splashback is limited to one or two small areas of the kitchen, you can afford to be a little more daring. This splashback has become a kitchen feature wall.
Seen from afar, look how beautifully the splashback ties in with the cushions and other furnishings in the living room. A plain splashback would give the home’s big picture much less appeal.
