Hi Michael - to my knowledge also the No. 14 was the first successfully mass-produced chair. I think mass production was one of Thonet's main intentions, so it drove the chair's design and manner of assembly.

Hi Rebecca,
I purchased a B9 style chair from a second hand furniture store. There is a Thonet engraved under the chair. I have attached picture. I have restored it and plan to sell it at fund raising. Do you think this is an original piece and how much do you think I should ask for?

Hi Veronica, Great chair! Not wanting to risk giving you incorrect information or estimate, I would suggest contacting Thonet to confirm its authenticity: http://www.thonet.com.au/. Someone there should be able to help or point you in the right direction. And perhaps looking on Ebay or Etsy, or contacting a secondhand dealer, will help you estimate how much you can ask for it. Good luck!
