I am planing now my new garden. South side is shaded from neighbors dense border bushes and trees and ground covered mostly with moss, therefore full sun is on North side of the yard. I observe how sun turns for 2 months, it's a bit difficult to see in winter, but close look where branches shade falls is enough. The same is in my primary house yard, East, West and South are shaded by neighbors fences or hedge.

This is great! I've been utilizing my due-South facing home and the micro-climate produced to "some" plants from 7b to 8b and to coax tender perennials into toughies that return reliably. Plus I get to enjoy many blooms weeks ahead of when they are expected such as this "Tropical Sun" rose in a planter tucked up in a SW corner of my house and on the driveway.
