Want to know what Australian Houzzers look to for inspiration when they’re renovating their cooking zones? Just take a look at these beautiful images of traditionally styled white kitchens. These are just some of the photos that have been saved to the most ideabooks since the launch of Houzz Australia last year. Share your opinions of the round-up in the Comments section – we’d love to know what you think!
1. Houzzers love the contrasting oak floor against the stone benchtops in this galley kitchen – not to mention the ladder in the distance.
2. Is it the contemporary pendants, range hood shelf or simply the blossoming centrepiece that has over 114,000 Houzzers saving this photo?
3. Marble benchtops, ceramic subway tiles and a farmhouse sink make this a popular kitchen among Aussie Houzzers.
4. The island bench here pulls this kitchen scheme together – a timber benchtop works in harmony with the floor, while panelled siding matches the ceiling.
5. Not even a picturesque arched window can detract Houzzers’ attention from the splashback in this US kitchen. It’s made from Carrara marble basketweave-style tiles and is the very definition of standout style.
6. Upholstered barstools and a soft window treatment add personality to this white farmhouse-style kitchen.
7. This pantry alone is popular, because it provides ample storage for food and appliances, and can double as a kitchen workstation. Inset into the wall, it features generous bi-fold doors, as well as marble and oak shelving.
8. The kitchen island seen here, complete with cabinets and shelving for wine bottles and cookbooks, has inspired over 70,000 Houzzers to save this image.
9. Every detail counts in this beautiful Brisbane kitchen, from the trio of elegantly simple pendant lights, all the way down to the gleaming timber floors.
10. This photo has been saved 120,000 times, no doubt for the drama of its stunning vaulted ceiling and suspended lights.
11. A blue panelled ceiling transforms this white kitchen into something truly special, while marble surfaces add a sense of opulence.
12. More than 239,000 Houzzers agree that this traditional kitchen in Chicago is a hub of inspiration, from the delicate pendant lighting and intricate glass cabinets, to the character-filled hardwood flooring.
13. A combination of illuminated, beaded inset cabinets, coffered ceiling and arched range hood make this one of the most popular traditional white kitchens on Houzz Australia.
14. The grey subway tiles, Calcutta marble benchtops and warm timber floors in this traditional kitchen get a big tick of approval by Australia Houzzers.
15. Black benchtops contrast against white and stainless steel finishes to make this kitchen a favourite among Aussie Houzzers.
16. Why would you eat out if you had this traditional white kitchen to come home to? The diner-style booth is especially useful for casual dining, or even cosying up with a good book.
17. The most talked about features in this traditional kitchen are the joinery and display cabinets.
18. Here, an additional dining area runs off the kitchen island, a popular design feature among the Houzz community.
19. Houzzers especially like the light fixtures in this traditional kitchen.

None are really my cup of tea, and the only true white kitchens I saved was because I liked either the flooring, the windows or something in the photo I felt attracted to. I am not a traditional white kitchen person. More liking a modern rustic simplicity style.
Great article! A traditional white kitchen can be a timeless addition to your home.
I work with a lot of traditional houses and kitchens. Usually, with my clients I'll work out how we create the kitchen to compliment the rest of the house - if it should be a little more stripped back or detailed/have more traditional elements. Carefully selecting materials in neutral colour schemes can bring a traditional sense into your home, which ever way you approach the design. See the examples below-
