Beautiful gardens BUT not a country home in sight, all suburban, so no garden here for a rural property!!

Hi Barbara, many of the above style gardens would work well around a country home. Plant choice is the key to any garden. Whatever style of garden you design you need to make sure the plant species will adapt to your environment.

If you have a large property you can have say a formal garden around the home then blending out to a more minimalist or coastal theme garden to the larger areas. Mass plantings of native shrubs, groundcovers or sedge plants.

@Greenform Landscapes,

You are quite right about your comments.

I guess what I meant was that there were no photo's of country homes and they too have some magnificent gardens, so I missed the comparison of a formal or structured garden for example in a rural setting.
