About Us

Designing spaces for people to live, work and play. I started MBO Architects to offer an intimate architectural service to Brisbanites who are looking at renovating or extending their existing homes, or designing a new home. I have lived in the inner Brisbane suburbs for over 40 years. I'm incredibly passionate about our city and the unique character of its homes. As an architect I’m fortunate to be able to contribute to the enhancement and restoration of the existing housing stock and the insertion of respectful, modern new homes and additions. My working style is very collaborative. I like to take all interested parties on the journey from design to completion. Forming close relationships with my clients, other consultants and builders to ensure we are all on the same page. This method breeds enthusiasm for the project, and motivates everyone to focus on the best possible outcomes. Oliver has been a pleasure to deal with, he is professional, reliable and personable. We are newbies when it comes to design but he is able to integrate our ideas with his experience. All costs were outlined early on and he has facilitated links with other relevant quality professionals. We are excited to see the finished product and able to enjoy the process too!

Oliver had a very good understanding of the lifestyle we were attempting to achieve with our renovation and the budgetary constraints of the project. He listened carefully to our ideas and, importantly, also challenged us to consider alternatives. He had great respect for the integrity of our existing Queenslander (C. 1920s) and developed plans that paid tribute to the original character features of the home whilst incorporating new, contemporary spaces that seamlessly blend modern with old. He is a good communicator and made the design and construction process quite seamless. We are thrilled with the final outcome.

Commented: What is the wall colour please?Hi Sophie, the colour is called "monument" and you're right it is a charcoal like colour with an RGB of 47/47/49. Cheers Oliver
