I agree with Sue. I am currently fitting out my cabinets and appliances the plastering, patching, and painting have all been done prior..I may need to go back and touch up a few mishaps but this is far better than climbing over my new kitchen to get into those nasty corners etc. It could be argued that I have wasted paint/time by doing areas that done need to be done. But these areas are now clean and more resistant to damage. To save time and money mark the walls where your cabinets will go and only give these areas minimal paint and time concentrating paint and effort where you know will be visable. As Sue said it is far easier to paint a bare shell than work around your beautiful new cabinets and appliances.

I'd assumed I would paint first too as it would be a lot easier, that's what I'm planning anyway!
