Don’t disregard those empty spaces in your home. Look around and see if you can utilise the space for a desk, a reading nook, a place to store items, or a pull-out table. The possibilities for small spaces are surprisingly large.

I love the little reading nooks. We have one up high but we still cannot work out how to access it. It is 2500mm to the ledge but the area below it is the air con ducts and open area. A bit tricky! Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Katie, Its hard to tell without really seeing the space and knowing the dimensions but at a quick look you could maybe install a rail just above the AC vent with a sliding ladder. Then put some cushions in the space. Just not sure how large the space is, for safety reasons thats all?!
What about a ladder, perhaps one of those fancy ones you see in libraries (including home ones) with high shelves?
