Friends in Auckland had a composite deck. In summer it was too hot to stand or sit on. Grown ups can cope but the kids always had burnt feet from running across it to get to the cool grass. Looked like plastic as well.

Never use Composite wood. The boards get extremely hot in summer and you cannot walk on it. The plastic in the wood also off-gases into the environment. You can smell it.

suancol Concrete sounds like a massive thermal mass just sitting there to soak up all the heat during the day and radiate it back at you at night! Surely someone can suggest an alternative for you...
