Does anyone have ideas for reducing the cigarette smell from neighbours that sit outside and smoke? I can't open any windows on that side and the clothes on my clothesline get the full waft and smell of it. Before you suggest talking to them - already tried that to no avail....... :(

I think there are specific plants that help, not drastically, but maybe help balance some of the pollutants, mother-in-law's tongue might be one.

We have long (12m) and tall (2.6m at the highest point structural retaining wall along our boundary line that is failing due to the neighbour planting palm trees in the flower bed on top and the roots pushing the wall out. Their property is backfilled and we are at the bottom. The fence they have on top is in such a state it’s pretty much deteriorated and very ugly to look at. We got a structural report done as part of our DA and it states the wall is a „risk to life“ and had to adjust our plans for deck and pool so that if the wall falls it doesn’t damage structures in our property. The neighbour has been advised verbally, then writing, we offered to go halves on the walls. 2 years later and they still refuse to do anything about it. I’m at the end of my patience but it seems we have no other option than to pay for it ourselves. And that is exactly what they are waiting for!!! Tried to get a notice of non compliance from council but because the wall is old and was built without DA approval, they won’t act.
