We opted to replace conventional (Howdens) oak worktops for modern crisp Corian worktops in Carbon Charcoal on our existing calico cream units. We used stainless handles with black highlights and added a bespoke splashback using an image sourced from Shutterstock.

Pretty pleased with the end result. Corian in super easy to keep clean although we now spend more time making sure it is perfect. Think the original oak tops hid some day to day marks :)

I have oak worktops and they still look good after 14 years. They do need treating every few months but no real effort. I usually do it before going to bed then it’s all dry in the morning. The colour has got richer over the years. However, I do like all the white veined quartz and natural marble as well.

Sonia -- we used Rustins 2 pot Plastic Coating on our original oak top. Was excellent, tough and easy to apply. I used a small sponge roller to apply. Would definitely recommend for kitchen oak tops.
