Delightful Doodles: Houzz's Best Chalkboard Wall Art
Who knew homeowners could be so artistic with some chalk in hand? Take a look at these fun creations
The popularity of chalkboard paint has hit an all-time high, which means your chalkboard wall must stand out from the pack. It’s no longer enough to show useful things such as a shopping list or family schedule in neat handwriting, or even cute children’s art. Nope, to stay ahead in this game you need to either take a crash course in studio art or hire a professional artist to come in and create a masterpiece before your wall is ready for its close-up.
Obviously, I’m joking. Just for fun, these are some of the best chalkboard renderings I’ve seen on Houzz. If you’ve spied another one or created one yourself, please add it to the list via the comments section below.

Sorry, darling, you’re out. It’s time to wash this wall down and bring in a pro. (Just kidding!)

These residents have given their chalkboard wall the look of a large-scale wallpaper print. The cool birch trees are larger than life.
These homeowners have created a wall design around a pizza oven. Genius.
Did these guys visit the a natural history museum, or did they just watch The Squid and the Whale? Whichever option is true, this is one impressive chalkboard rendering.

This board is very Bart Simpson with a kitchen twist. Plus, the penmanship is pleasing (cursive script is a dying art). A+.
I never thought chalk could make me hungry, but this recipe and doodle combination makes me want to go out to dine.
I like the way the handwriting looks around this dining room. It’s consistent and nice. However, I cannot make out what it says, so I should probably put in a disclaimer saying I don’t necessarily support its message, just in case it’s some sort of wacky manifesto.
These ‘framed’ quotations are inspiring in the workplace. I wonder about some of the ones on the right side, though. Were they complete at one point and then someone came along and installed a fridge and cabinetry and covered parts of them up?
On this wall the chalk was used with a light touch in a tattoo-inspired way.
