Red Rubber Boots

Once again, an inspiring article! You pack SO much information into a short article that I yearn to see what you could do with a book. You have certainly opened up my eyes regarding conifers. I used to think of conifers in terms of those "foundation plants" that are predictably planted around new homes. Boring.

Then here you come with the idea of "texture" and you make the creation of a garden exciting again! Along with the colors.....the shapes..... Living sculpture indeed! I seriously object to the "pros" who place their own advertising as a reply to a Houzz article -- yet, the above posts are a real tribute to your design talent. It's helpful to see other interpretations and the above "reply photos" are lovely and inspiring. Great work, Pristine Acres and Topz Design!

Jay -- my garden is deep into "the Jay Sifford Effect" with 23 conifers planted since November 2014, drifts of evergreen ferns, a big ol' bell chiming in the breeze and a modern steel art piece aquired yesterday. Thank you for changing my winter landscape!

Red Rubber Boots, it sounds as though your garden is really coming along. I"m glad I could help by sharing some knowledge. Please post a photo of the "modern steel art piece". I'd love to see it as I do love those types of things...

I love the first photo. Since the Colorado Blue Spruces do not do well on the dry, windy Kansas plains (shallow root system designed for rocky terrain is my understanding, so they blow over), I think that would work with Wichita Blue Junipers which seem to do well here.
