Indrani, we love him for his program and wonderfully descriptive english-accented narration and crisp and watchable presentation, not his designs, any one of which, frankly, I've never seen yet. But still I'm sure Kevin knows what he's talking about.

I don't think they are his designs, the people building the houses are the designers, or they have architects. He just brings it all together so we can see their struggles. Some of them barely scrape through, while others go way over their budget. That is the parts we like the best....how they overcome all that, and still end with up with their dream homes. My favourite episode was the one where the Welsh guy purchased an old castle ruin and restored it with alot of blood sweat and tears and not much else.

For the record I quite like Kevin McCloud & his TV shows. The emphasis is clearly on making interesting & entertaining viewing. However people shouldn't jump to conclusions, Kevin is an architectural historian, not a qualified or registered architect. I agree that he makes some very valid points, but if you speak to any professional consultant or professional builder they will tell you that an awful lot of malpractice is broadcast, that makes the real industry cringe. Remember the programme is light entertainment only, I personally fear for the many with a dream, loads of enthusiasm & little or no experience of the industry.
