I live in a 150 year old terraced cottage and have a damp patch on the wall off the porch which adjoins my neighbours house. I probably need to get it looked at pronto.

Damp proofing and modern solutions do not work for old buil. They just push the damp somewhere else. Do not rely on so called Damp Proofing experts. They usually jyst want to sell their products snd wont be sround around when it fails. Old buildings demand old remedies. Clean gutters, unblock drains, repoint with lime and use lime plaster., NOT cement snd gypsum. Join a Facebook group specifically for restoring old buildings.
