Judith Molloy would you do a black splashback when the bench tops are black stone with beige kitchen cupboards? I need to replace my splashback as it is that green glass which was fashionable 15 years ago and needs to go. I was actually thinking of going to a Carrara (white with grey streaks) marble, to pick up the grey in the living area. I also have Carrara floors in the bathrooms with white tiled walls.

Definitely get rid of the green splash back Jenny. But personally I would tone it down a bit as black is a very dominant colour and may be too much of " black hole" sort of look. The new glass tiles are in a variety of colours but I would also suggest trying pressed metal tiles. They will reflect the black benchtop lovely and will pick up the grey in the living area. Or there is a new tile out now that is a mix of designs ie floral and geometric. in a hexagon shape Very old fashioned and from Bunnings and Beaumont tiles. But what ever colour you go make sure there is bench top colour in as well to tie in your tops with the back. Good luck and hope this works for you...
