Polish my kitchen cabinetry with linseed oil. It brings out the natural woodgrain, as well as preserving it.

Also moving out beds and drawers to vacuum under and behind. Vacuuming matresses and turning them is also a good idea, as well as airing duvets on the clothesline outdoors, or putting them through the cool cycle of the dryer.

Wash down the photovoltaic solar electricity panels to maintain their power generation input!

Dust the houseplants and repot any that can do with more root room!

@Lynette Ludbrook,

Sounds like what I would do but I move beds monthly, living in the country seems to be be more dusty!!

I also move the fridge, freezer and washing machine fortnightly and as for duvet's, I take them to the drycleaners once a year, so the summer one is there now and when I swap the winter one then it goes. I use feather doona's and they come up a treat.

I bet no-one else has thought of this... After having to replace some wall sockets which have corroded terminals and/or become stiff, I have gone around with a can of WD40 (with the little plastic tube fitted) and squirted it into the pin holes and around the rockers. All now push in easily and switch with with a satisfying click. Probably every 5 years would do.
