1890 Cottage Style Kitchen

Traditional, Cincinnati

This Cottage style kitchen was designed for a clapboard-sided, 1890’s Kentucky cottage and is located in a small town near Lexington, Kentucky. The owners completely restored the house and wanted a kitchen that was clean and simple, with a period feel to blend with the house. For this style kitchen, they chose cabinets with simple, flat panel doors, flush drawers, curved Shaker feet, and Shaker 45 degree crown molding. The sink cabinet has 1890’s-style beaded panel doors, ball feet, and contains a Kohler sink. The finish is brushed linen white on the main cabinets and brushed moss green on the island. The counter tops are ¾’’ and 1¼’’ curly maple with brown stain and a mineral oil finish. The hardware is blackened Shaker wooden knobs.
