Offering a webinar gets your message out there and gets you the email addresses of people who are interested in what you have to say, for future marketing efforts. To expand the topics you cover as well as your reach, you might partner with a professional from a related industry such as architecture, construction or real estate. You may also want to present a panel discussion. You could tackle specific, focused topics or broad subjects like how to get your home ready to sell or which renovating and design projects provide the best return on investment. Having a wide variety of topics and presenters will increase your visibility and allow you to draw on a larger audience of subscribers.
Length of projectAbout two weeks, not including putting in flooring and finishing touches on the ceiling. Is a permit needed? This will vary from council to council and from wall to wall. The rule of thumb is that if it’s not a structural wall, a permit is not required. Exterior walls can often present a different story though.
Check for leaks on hose tapsHose taps are relied upon more during summer to water gardens, wash cars or provide water for fun slip-and-slide activities in the backyard. A dripping hose tap is rarely detected, but it can cause a lot of damage to your water bill. So make a habit of checking the taps outside your home for leaks each spring. If there is a leak, the washer can be replaced. If the hose tap needs to be replaced, call your local plumber. They will also need to install a vacuum breaker valve to prevent the backflow of water that can be sucked through sprinklers, which can contaminate the drinking water supply to your street. This is a mandatory fitting that should be installed on all hose taps.Browse stylish outdoor tap designs

7. Vertical-opening doorsVertically hung doors open upwards, and they are usually opened with some form of mechanism, such as an automatic system or wheelVertical-opening doors are not that common because of their weight and the amount of space required above them. However, they can prove to be exceptional design features. In this Sydney home, two 250-kilogram vertical glass doors enclose the central garden. They are counterbalanced with a 500-kilogram weight with a rack-and-pinion system, and raised and lowered by turning a custom-crafted wheel.
A courtyard space in the centre of the house allows light to penetrate into the interior of the terrace, and gives internal rooms access to green space. Lush green planting in the courtyard helps improve air quality. “The stairs and courtyard are two of the main architectural features of the home, so we were mindful of how important it was to get the landscaping right,” says one of the owners. “The courtyard is the centre of our home and provides light and air to every room of the house. It also serves as collection point for water that flows from the roof down a chain passing through the counterweight to the garden sculpture below, and onto the underground water tank in the rear.”The 5 Principles of Passivhaus Design
