To meet the client‘s brief and maintain the character of the house it was decided to retain the existing timber framed windows and VJ timber walling above tiles. The client loves green and yellow, so a patterned floor tile including these colours was selected, with two complimentry subway tiles used for the walls up to the picture rail. The feature green tile used in the back of the shower. A playful bold vinyl wallpaper was installed in the bathroom and above the dado rail in the toilet. The corner back to wall bath, brushed gold tapware and accessories, wall hung custom vanity with Davinci Blanco stone bench top, teardrop clearstone basin, circular mirrored shaving cabinet and antique brass wall sconces finished off the look. The picture rail in the high section was painted in white to match the wall tiles and the above VJ‘s were painted in Dulux Triamble to match the custom vanity 2 pak finish. This colour framed the small room and with the high ceilings softened the space and made it more intimate. The timber window architraves were retained, whereas the architraves around the entry door were painted white to match the wall tiles. The adjacent toilet was changed to an in wall cistern and pan with tiles, wallpaper, accessories and wall sconces to match the bathroom Overall, the design allowed open easy access, modernised the space and delivered the wow factor that the client was seeking.

This three bedroom apartment was in need of a large scale renovation. Set in a small, boutique complex by the water in Sydney's North Shore, the dated residence originally had a layout that was ineffective and did not give the view justice. The brief asked to open the rear of the apartment showcasing the view, add a luxury ensuite to the master and provide a large, functional kitchen. One of the biggest challenges was adhering to the strict strata regulations and Class Two Building codes requiring fire rated gyprock, conversion of the electrical fittings to be fire rated and raising the floor to case insulation for sound proofing. Despite the difficulties, Milson Residence presents a contemporary update that accommodates a range of lifestyles. The interior design was thoughtfully considered reflecting the Art Deco heritage of the complex, featuring tall skirtings and herringbone floorboards. The design worked around existing windows which highlighted the unsightly neighbouring apartment. We were able to utilise one window to our advantage by designing the joinery around the window to provide a window splashback to the kitchen. The kitchen houses a bar / coffee nook and a European laundry, as well as a large pantry. The spacious island bench provides extensive storage and seats four comfortably for entertaining. The finishes & fixtures throughout were specified to the clients brief, illustrating an overall sense of calm and sophistication.

Our clients had been in their home since the early 1980’s and decided it was time for some updates. We took on the kitchen, two bathrooms and a powder room. This petite master bathroom primarily had storage and space planning challenges. Since the wife uses a larger bath down the hall, this bath is primarily the husband’s domain and was designed with his needs in mind. We started out by converting an existing alcove tub to a new shower since the tub was never used. The custom shower base and decorative tile are now visible through the glass shower door and help to visually elongate the small room. A Kohler tailored vanity provides as much storage as possible in a small space, along with a small wall niche and large medicine cabinet to supplement. “Wood” plank tile, specialty wall covering and the darker vanity and glass accents give the room a more masculine feel as was desired. Floor heating and 1 piece ceramic vanity top add a bit of luxury to this updated modern feeling space. The layout of this bathroom was reconfigured by locating the new tub on the rear wall, and putting the toilet on the left of the vanity. The wall on the left of the existing vanity was taken out.

We divided 1 oddly planned bathroom into 2 whole baths to make this family of four SO happy! Mom even got her own special bathroom so she doesn't have to share with hubby and the 2 small boys any more.

This is the Vanity from our Master Suite Reconfiguration Project in Tribeca. Waterworks 'Henry' Fixtures were used throughout in Burnished Brass, which will age beautifully over time. Our GC developed a custom medicine cabinet with a metal frame to match the fixtures perfectly. Shaker Panels with a stepped detail, metal frames & applied mouldings set up a perfectly proportioned composition. Crown moulding was installed set off from the wall, creating a shadow gap, which is an effective tool in not only creating visual interest, but also eliminating the need for unsightly caulked points of connection, and the likelihood of splitting. The custom vanity was topped with a Neolith Estatuario product that has the look and feel of natural Statuary Stone, but better performance from a hardness and porosity point of view. Kelly Wearstler 'Utopia' Sconces and Shades of Light 'Moravian Star' surface lights were chosen to add a bit of flair to the understated transitional aesthetic of the project.

The shower now has a curbless entry, large seat, glass surround and personalized niche. All new fixtures and lighting. Materials have a cohesive mix with accents of flat top pebbles, beach glass and shimmering glass tile. Large format porcelain tiles are on the walls in a wave relief pattern that bring the beach inside. A spacious, L-shaped Maple vanity with Dove finish offers double the amount of storage space. The new Viaterra quartz looks classic and is easy to maintain. Custom-made Ghost Wood mirrors and floating shelves fabricated out of distressed wood and galvanized piping create focal points amongst the clean white selections. Gorgeous Eramosa Ice ceramic tile floors add a splash of silver. The new shower feels much larger even though it’s in the existing footprint. A special shaving niche was placed 6” off the ground. The basketweave tile floor adds some geometric interest in the otherwise clean, white space.
