This trendy wine cellar is sleek with black wine racking, matching the black coated stainless steel frames in the glass front. Poplar wood was utilized for these wine racks, only to be finished with a modern / contemporary touch of staining them completely midnight black. This wine room screams luxury with its clean lines and hybrid style utilizing metal, glass and wood in varying colors and styles. Designed , built, and installed by Vintage Cellars, this wine cellar keeps your interest with many styles of display and storage. Along the top, individual bottle storage is perfect for those longer termed holdings. Directly below showcases two tiered coved trays, perfect for putting those prized bottles front and center. Directly underneath is a high reveal display row, keeping bottles angled properly to ensure wet corks for graceful aging. One level lower yet again leaves space for original wood cases. The jet black wine racking contrasts beautifully against the sprawling natural wood flooring. Space was left inside this mid-sized wine vault / wine room / wine cellar to make room for a entertaining table - perfect for opening and decanting your favorite bottles with friends. Even with the comfortable spaciousness designed into this wine cellar, it still holds 800+ bottles easily. Vintage Cellars worked with Noe Design Co on this project. They did a fantastic job with the custom stainless steel framing, door, and glasswork.. A beautiful consistency was kept with the dark metal and wine racks. The combination of white and grey marble in the home bar / custom bar, the utilization of mirrors, subdued grey wall coverings, and sleek black furniture, metal, and wood all showcase elegance at its finest. The award-winning Jack’s Point is our new display home at the HomeQuest Village in Bella Vista. At the 2023 HIA awards, Horizon Homes won both Display Home of the Year, and Best Display Home in its category - Display Homes over $1m. When we built this home, we wanted a design that would be contemporary, but still fit comfortably in the traditional style streetscapes of the suburbs that we typically build in – the North Shore, Northern Beaches and Canada Bay areas. The natural finishes of timber, stone and metal gives this home an organic look and feel. The façade design and finishes provide the beautiful mix of material choices. Modern brickwork meshes with charred hardwood timber cladding, castellated style garage door, and a first-floor natural garden bed. Natural American Oak timber flooring leads from the entry lead to the lounge, which features an impressive yet functional wall-hung fireplace with an exposed metal flue. The staircase provides a wonderful aesthetic but also acts to create distinct spaces in an otherwise open space. It is constructed from American Oak treads, steel and glass and allows natural light through to the living areas. Large format porcelain tiles provide a seamless finish to the remaining living areas and carry through to the alfresco kitchen and dining area. The kitchen and pantry provide beautifully finished modern workspaces with the mix of marble / granite and Corian finishes. The marble fluting on the island ends elevates the benchtop from the purely practical, to an elegant design feature. As with all Horizon Homes builds, the alfresco area was important. It has been designed to enhance natural light in the home, as well as providing flexible living spaces. The upper floor comprises of four bedrooms, main bathrooms, two ensuites and a private lounge space adjacent to the master bedroom. This overlooks the rooftop garden bed. The feature panelling to all bedrooms and hallway that so caught the judges’ attention provide this home with the warm cosy feel. Like all of our custom designs, the display home was designed to maximise quality light, airflow and space for the block it was built on. 'Being recognised by the client as pioneers of the importance in understanding proper climate control" gave me a thrilling sense of delivery - Craig Ellis. Being hand selected by one of the industries true wine professionals, a 'sommelier', to deliver this double sided custom restaurant wine display was an honour. Delivered within twelve weeks, the display now calls one of London's most exquisite Japanese teppanyaki restaurants "Onodera" it's home. Angelo had a clear vision for his style of custom wine cellar display. He wanted to best store, handle and also give his wine presentations from one stylish display. The partnership synergy with Angelo's expertise in addition to passion in handling wine, allowed a smooth, harmonious design experience. The Custom Restaurant Wine Display stands at 3.5m wide by 2.5m high and has two internally built in separate climate controlled zones. It has two separate custom cooling systems built within. A cooler side of 5c for white wine and also champagne and the right side at 14c for red wine. The double glazed doors have been with fitted with rubber gaskets, a slim profile frame and completed with recessed sprayed Matt black hinges. On view from the seated dining areas of the restaurant, in the heart of Onodera. Note; the rear glazed viewing panels display the identical internal accessible bottle layouts from the back of this wine display. The shadow gap aligned panels are fully removable for servicing access and fitted with concealed fixings. The Led lighting selection incorporates waterproof 2700k spectrum warm white light spots in addition to strips. Lighting zones controlled by wireless dimmable wall mounted keypad controllers allow for simple control. This custom restaurant wine display is built in a toughened grade matt sprayed timber. It is also a perfect example of a freestanding structure that can be secured floor to ceiling. This maintains the structural integrity, without the use of a heavy gauge steel structure. Every detail in the design considers aesthetic characteristics and also daily service use of this custom restaurant wine display.

A small wine cooler can keep 20-odd bottles chilled to perfection and can sit within your kitchen, whereas a freestanding all-glass wine cellar could act as a feature or functional room divider in your home. What should I include in my wine cellar?

This depends on the size of your collection – or how big you hope it becomes. If you enjoy quaffing, you may want to invest in a walk-in cooler with wall-mounted wine racks and several tall wine fridges, as well as a tasting area with bar stools. If you’re a beginner or have a small collection, a home bar with mini fridge and wine rack will suffice. Essential bar accessories include wine glasses, corkscrews, carafes and aerators.

How should I store my wine?

Temperature control is at the core of a functional wine cellar. Your bottles need to be kept out of direct sunlight, and away from the heat and steam of kitchen appliances. A room that is too warm will make your wine age faster, oxidise and lose its character and flavour. If bottles are corked, they also need to be laid down. Your architect or designer will be able to help you create the ideal conditions for your home collection.

Where should I position my wine cooler?

The most important thing to consider is ease of access, which is why kitchens are the most common place to position wine coolers. Should you have minimal floor space, a small one could even sit comfortably on your countertop. If quaffing requires an occasion or you frequently host dinner parties, consider your dining room, so you can top up people’s glasses without having to leave the room. You could also make your bar fridge or cooler a destination within your entertainment or games room. There’s no denying that Aussies love to entertain and enjoy a glass or two outdoors, so if you’re lucky enough to have a covered outdoor area, this could be just the place for a cooler, too. Just ensure it doesn’t experience any extreme weather or long periods of direct sunlight.
