This amazing bathroom space was created in a disused room off the main bedroom, a blank canvas to create a stunning understated bathroom for this Eastern suburbs home. We think you will agree this is one elegant modern bathroom
What Houzz contributors are saying:
Darren: When we set out, we wanted to create a luxury bathroom brand that focused on Australian-made bathroom furniture, supported by amazing brands, such as Italian tapware, so our mission was to focus on bathrooms. We had a range of washbasins and bathroom furniture that we designed and were hand-making in Sydney, and we retailed parts of this collection through the Reece network around Australia. 7. Location: Clovelly, NSWWhy we love it: A freestanding egg-shaped bath, acres of marble and charcoal, and a round, leather-framed mirror hung on the wall – the bathroom in this Georgian townhouse is simply and achingly elegant.
4. Monochromatic greysTo create a clean and simple look, add various shades of grey in both paint and tiles to keep your bathroom flowing and to provide depth and orientation. Add some fresh flowers or a lush and leafy potted plant and you’ll create a beautiful, classical environment too.Carrara marble was first used in Ancient Rome and has featured on many notable monuments and buildings ever since. The grey-and-white veining of the marble gives any bathroom a luxe look, making even a compact wet room feel spacious and special.
Don’t restrict mirrors to their common spot above the basin – try hanging them in unexpected positions that will capture the attention.
3. How much natural light is there?A dark and gloomy bathroom that always has to be artificially lit is not nearly as appealing as one bathed in natural light. Think this through at the design stage and factor in any extra costs of enlarging windows or installing skylights. This bathroom used to be a little-used room off the main suite in a four-bedroom California bungalow located in Clovelly, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.“Very rarely are we presented with a space that is free from anything, a space that is square with good light, a clean slate,” says Darren Genner, director of Minosa, who designed this bathroom. “This space was a dream to work with, but it still had its challenges.”
