The London Gardener LtdSmall garden in Brixton designed for young children and sophisticated enough to link in style with the new kitchen extension/remodelled house.
Artificial grass was combined with scented Lavender and Trachleospermum with year round structure from standard Olea (Olive) trees and Magnolia Grandiflora.
Cedar slats were used for the fencing to give a clean and modern line.

Christine Wilkie Garden DesignThe owner of this small, triangular-shaped garden in Chiswick, west London, wanted a modern outdoor room that would link seamlessly from a newly-built contemporary orangery. Water, lighting and low-maintenance planting were also required, as was the need to integrate an existing summerhouse that dominated the space. Existing fencing was to be disguised to blend in with the overall style.
The garden measured 11m x 6m, narrowing to just 4m at the rear corner. As no lawn was required, this was completely removed in favour of a smooth sandstone paving that was used to create the sense of a larger space and complement the interior flooring. A main focal point in the garden was a slate-clad water wall. Lighting was used to extend the garden’s use into the evening, while painted trellis panels and climbing plants were used to disguise the existing utility fence panels.

Green Tree Garden Design LtdA tired, overgrown garden has been transformed into a stunning contemporary space with a generous patio outside the house, and a cedar deck in the top corner of the garden where my clients can relax and enjoy the sunshine.
The main patio has been lowered to the same level as the internal floor space, enabling us to create some level changes in what was previously a flat garden. Raised beds help to break up the space, and add additional interest and structure. Cedar seating and a matching table and storage unit have been built on the main patio to form a stylish seating area.
The planting has been designed to be bright and colourful, matching the internal colour scheme of the house, and providing interest and structure throughout the year. The existing shed has been renovated and painted, and set behind a rendered wall which helps to hide the utility area at the back of the garden.
