Breakfast nook--After. A custom built-in bench (cherry, like the cabinetry) works well for eat-in breakfasts. Period reproduction lighting, Deco pulls, and a custom formica table root the kitchen to the origins of the home.

The chandelier reminded us of the sails of a ship and the legs of the iconic Eames chairs felt like an inversion of the chandelier. A thick rustic table of reclaimed teak helps to ground the lighter elements.

The transformation of this kitchen began by removing the peninsula and upper cabinets to open the space and allow for a multi-functional island. The blue stained glass backsplash is accentuated by a beautiful repeating ivory pattern. Glazed maple cabinets provide warm contrast and my client's beloved rooster collection adds an interesting focal point.

The kitchen addition connects with the rear green space and floods the room with natural light through large horizontally banded, counter height windows. Formaldehyde-free painted cabinetry with countertops made of resin coated recycled paper are easily maintained and environmentally sound.

Gourmet Kitchen features a separate prep kitchen, two islands in main kitchen, wolf appliances, subzero refrigeration, La Cornue rotisserie, and a Miele steam oven. Counter top slabs are fusion quartzite from Aria Stone Gallery. We designed a unique back-splash behind the range to store spices on one side and oils and a pot filler on other side. Flat panel cabinets.

this remodel for a retired couple in sea cliff reconfigures the two most used areas of the house; the kitchen and master bedroom. the eat in kitchen gains functionality and flow by relocating the laundry and powder rooms. this generates the opportunity to realize vast improvements daylighting as well as connection to the back yard. relocation of the master suite relies on conversion of a windowless hallway/closet into master bath. the potential claustrophobia of this room is overcome by detailing of the skylight well to maximize available light. simple removal of a doorway refines en-suite continuity with the bedroom.
