Land & Water Design
Our client constructed their new home on five wooded acres in Northern Virginia, and they requested our firm to help them design the ultimate backyard retreat complete with custom natural look pool as the main focal point. The pool was designed into an existing hillside, adding natural boulders and multiple waterfalls, raised spa. Next to the spa is a raised natural wood burning fire pit for those cool evenings or just a fun place for the kids to roast marshmallows.
The extensive Techo-bloc Inca paver pool deck, a large custom pool house complete with bar, kitchen/grill area, lounge area with 60" flat screen TV, full audio throughout the pool house & pool area with a full bath to complete the pool area.
For the back of the house, we included a custom composite waterproof deck with lounge area below, recessed lighting, ceiling fans & small outdoor grille area make this space a great place to hangout. For the man of the house, an avid golfer, a large Southwest synthetic putting green (2000 s.f.) with bunker and tee boxes keeps him on top of his game. A kids playhouse, connecting flagstone walks throughout, extensive non-deer appealing landscaping, outdoor lighting, and full irrigation fulfilled all of the client's design parameters.

A rectangular pool was the only shape that would fit this long lot and also all zoning restrictions in the City of Atlanta. We presented the client with various options for the location of the spa and how the patio & deck could make the transition from both the upper level and basement level of the home.

A cool toned Bisazza gemme glass tile was used as the basis for this interior pool. The steps are lined with a beach glass tile and the coping is Dorset cliff stone.

The sweeping arc of this pool was set to celebrate the aged charisma of this 90 year old Chinaberry tree. Three still, gently bubbling low profile wok pots barely float above the water, barely casting their ripple across the surface.

This ultra-luxurious pool in Massachusetts featured a dive rock, waterfall and incredible design selections. The swimming pool is complimented by a pool house, patio seating and an expansive deck that's material came from a mountain range in Maine.
Liquidscapes
A couple of images and close ups of a pool and pool environment just completed. It is an eclectic blend of modern and old world charm.
The pool is to appear as if it was an original foundation to a structure that was converted into a swimming pool, but it was all from scratch. The reflection of the stone surround looks incredible against the cool blue water.
The far end of the pool and the stone foundation sits above grade and can be used as a comfortable bench. Enjoy and much more to follow!

Close-up of this rich and artfully integrated colorful iridescent glass tile. Subtle and also eye-catching and light-catching, a stunning edging for the sun shelf and steps. Set into the custom black ceramic chip finish and echoing the curved design of the landscaping, this is a true beauty. Photo by Tim Schoon
