Landscape by Stonepocket located in Minnetonka, Minnesota Creating a elegant landscape to blend with a home with such character and charm was a challenge in controlled resistant. Did not want the landscape to overwhelm the home, nor did I want a typical landscape for this style that usually involves a box hedge. Utilizing light in the front to create a perennial garden give the home a sense of place. Keep the planting mostly to whites and greens in the back unifies the space. photos by Stonepocket, Inc

Perennial color is of course the most popular as the investment pays dividends as time goes on. Annual color then is trustworthy, filling the void between successive perennial blooms and providing consistent color throughout the summer. Photographed by Phil Steinhauer

After a tear-down/remodel we were left with a west facing sloped front yard without much privacy from the street, a blank palette as it were. Re purposed concrete was used to create an entrance way and a seating area. Colorful drought tolerant trees and plants were used strategically to screen out unwanted views, and to frame the beauty of the new landscape. This yard is an example of low water, low maintenance without looking like grandmas cactus garden.

The Entry and Parking Courtyard : The approach to the front of the house leads up the driveway into a spacious cobbled courtyard framed by a series of stone walls , which in turn are surrounded by plantings. The stone walls also allow the formation of a secondary room for entry into the garages. The walls extend the architecture of the house into the garden allowing the house to be grounded to the site and connect to the greater landscape. Photo credit: ROGER FOLEY

Green Care ProjectGreen Care Project
An urban oasis blends indoor and outdoor living, grounded within a diverse landscape. In this inner-city home, we sought to defy the boundaries of the urban context, using landscape at every opportunity to cultivate a sense of privacy, seclusion, and comfort for our clients. At every point of the site, greenery interacts with the house - vines climbing columns, groundcovers cascading over walls, the dense foliage of screening trees brushing through battens - to soften architectural lines and blur the connection of indoor and outdoor spaces. The immersion is enhanced with intimate tactile interactions, the textural contrast of smooth stepping stone pathways, soft foliage, and pebbles. Integrated seating invites rest within the greenery, under the filtered sunlight. Stepping through the gardens we experience a shift from a sunny coastal heath to a deep layered subtropical alcove. This shift in palette is responsive to the microclimatic conditions of the site, and further complements the architectural transition from public to private spaces.

We're thrilled to share this remarkable project that we had the privilege of being part of. Here's a glimpse of what went into making this outdoor oasis a reality: ? Removing Old Landscaping: Out with the old to make room for the new! We started by clearing the slate and saying goodbye to the past. ?️ Grading: A crucial step in ensuring that every inch of this landscape would be just right. The foundation for greatness! ? Hardscape Form Planning: Precision and design expertise came together to plan the hardscape elements that would shape this outdoor paradise. ? New Custom Concrete Pathways inlaid with Mexican Beach Pebbles: We added a touch of elegance and uniqueness with custom concrete pathways, beautifully adorned with Mexican beach pebbles. ? Installation of Hundreds of Plants: Nature was our palette, and we painted it with a vibrant selection of plants, breathing life into this space. ?️ Artificial Turf: Say hello to the low-maintenance beauty of artificial turf. A green, welcoming space year-round! ? Irrigation: To keep this landscape thriving, we installed a state-of-the-art irrigation system, ensuring every plant gets the care it deserves. ? Lighting: When the sun sets, the magic continues with carefully placed lighting that accentuates the beauty of this outdoor haven. Start planning your custom landscape today!

Coming home has never felt better...This complete exterior home renovation & curb appeal has vibes of Palm Springs written all over it!!! Views of the Organ Mountains surrounded by the Chihuahuan Desert creates an outdoor space like no other. Modifications were made to the courtyard walls, new entrance door, sunset balcony included removing an over designed standard staircase access with a new custom spiral staircase, a new T&G ceiling, minimized obstructing columns, replaced w/substantial cedar support beams. Stucco patch, repair & new paint, new down spouts & underground drainage were all key to making a better home. Now our client can come home with feel good vibes!!! Our next focus was the access driveway, taking boring to sophisticated. With nearly 9' of elevation change from the street to the home we wanted to create a fun and easy way to come home. 8" bed drystack limestone walls & planters were key to making the transition of elevation smooth, also being completely permeable, but with the strength to retain, these walls will be here for a lifetime. Accented with oversized Mossrock boulders and mossrock slabs used for steps, naturalized the environment, serving as break points and easy access. Native plants surrounded by natural vegetation compliments the flow with an outstanding lighting show when the sun goes down. Welcome to your home!!!
