I Love My Victorian-Kitchen

Traditional Kitchen, San Francisco

The owner of this house loved its Victorian character, but didn’t like the one car garage or clumsily laid out kitchen which had been remodeled by a previous owner. In addition the house had a full basement with the potential to add much needed living space to the house. We replaced the one car garage with a two car garage more in keeping with the Victorian style of the house. At the rear of the house, a small bump-out was replaced with a new kitchen addition complete with a pressed tin ceiling, wainscoting and custom beaded panel cabinets. After excavating a couple of feet of earth at the basement for additional ceiling height, we created a suite of rooms with a guest bed and bath, home theater and wine cellar. At our client’s request, the basement rooms have a more contemporary feeling.
