Durham Road is our minimal and contemporary extension and renovation of a Victorian house in East Finchley, North London. Custom joinery hides away all the typical kitchen necessities, and an all-glass box seat will allow the owners to enjoy their garden even when the weather isn’t on their side. Despite a relatively tight budget we successfully managed to find resources for high-quality materials and finishes, underfloor heating, a custom kitchen, Domus tiles, and the modern oriel window by one finest glassworkers in town.

Ultramodern German Kitchen in Cranleigh, Surrey This Cranleigh kitchen makes the most of a bold kitchen theme and our design & supply only fitting option. The Brief This Cranleigh project sought to make use of our design & supply only service, with a design tailored around the sunny extension being built by a contractor at this property. The task for our Horsham based kitchen designer George was to create a design to suit the extension in the works as well as the style and daily habits of these Cranleigh clients. A theme from our Horsham Showroom was a favourable design choice for this project, with adjustments required to fit this space. Design Elements With the core theme of the kitchen all but decided, the layout of the space was a key consideration to ensure the new space would function as required. A clever layout places full-height units along the rear wall of this property with all the key work areas of this kitchen below the three angled windows of the extension. The theme combines dark matt black furniture with ferro bronze accents and a bronze splashback. The handleless profiling throughout is also leant from the display at our Horsham showroom and compliments the ultramodern kitchen theme of black and bronze. To add a further dark element quartz work surfaces have been used in the Vanilla Noir finish from Caesarstone. A nice touch to this project is an in keeping quartz windowsill used above the sink area. Special Inclusions With our completely custom design service, a number of special inclusions have been catered for to add function to the project. A key area of the kitchen where function is added is via the appliances chosen. An array of Neff appliances have been utilised, with high-performance N90 models opted for across a single oven, microwave oven and warming drawer. Elsewhere, full-height fridge and freezers have been integrated behind furniture, with a Neff dishwasher located near to the sink also integrated behind furniture. A popular wine cabinet is fitted within furniture around the island space in this kitchen. Project Highlight The highlight of this project lays within the coordinated design & supply only service provided for this project. Designer George tailored our service to this project, with a professional survey undertaken as soon as the area of the extension was constructed. With any adjustments made, the furniture and appliances were conveniently delivered to site for this client’s builder to install. Our work surface partner then fitted the quartz work surfaces as the final flourish. The End Result This project is a fantastic example of the first-class results that can be achieved using our design & supply only fitting option, with the design perfectly tailored to the building work undertaken – plus timely coordination with the builder working on the project. La cuisine ouverte avec son étagère monumentale en marbre et son ilôt en miroir sont les pièces centrales autour desquelles s'articulent l'espace de vie. 余白のある家本計画は京都市左京区にある閑静な住宅街の一角にある敷地で既存の建物を取り壊し、新たに新築する計画。周囲は、低層の住宅が立ち並んでいる。既存の建物も同計画と同じ三階建て住宅で、既存の3階部分からは、周囲が開け開放感のある景色を楽しむことができる敷地となっていた。この開放的な景色を楽しみ暮らすことのできる住宅を希望されたため、三階部分にリビングスペースを設ける計画とした。敷地北面には、山々が開け、南面は、低層の住宅街の奥に夏は花火が見える風景となっている。その景色を切り取るかのような開口部を設け、窓際にﾍﾞﾝﾁをつくり外との空間を繋げている。北側の窓は、出窓としキッチンスペースの一部として使用できるように計画とした。キッチンやリビングスペースの一部が外と繋がり開放的で心地よい空間となっている。また、今回のクライアントは、20代であり今後の家族構成は未定である、また、自宅でリモートワークを行うため、居住空間のどこにいても、心地よく仕事ができるスペースも確保する必要があった。このため、既存の住宅のように当初から個室をつくることはせずに、将来の暮らしにあわせ可変的に部屋をつくれるような余白がふんだんにある空間とした。1Ｆは土間空間となっており、2Ｆまでの吹き抜け空間いる。現状は、広場とした外部と繋がる土間空間となっており、友人やペット飼ったりと趣味として遊べ、リモートワークでゆったりした空間となった。将来的には個室をつくったりと暮らしに合わせさまざまに変化することができる計画となっている。敷地の条件や、クライアントの暮らしに合わせるように変化するできる建物はクライアントとともに成長しつづけ暮らしによりそう建物となった。
