The Spanish Courtyard House is a remodel and addition to a small Spanish-Style bungalow in Westwood. Existing bedrooms were opened up and became a large entertaining space, while a new bedroom wing and guest house surround a landscaped courtyard. Archways and beamed ceilings on the interior and textured stucco and clay tile on the exterior pay respect to this important regional style, while more the clean modern palette of cabinetry and fixtures identifies the house as a contemporary piece.

Centered on seamless transitions of indoor and outdoor living, this open-planned Spanish Ranch style home is situated atop a modest hill overlooking Western San Diego County. The design references a return to historic Rancho Santa Fe style by utilizing a smooth hand troweled stucco finish, heavy timber accents, and clay tile roofing. By accurately identifying the peak view corridors the house is situated on the site in such a way where the public spaces enjoy panoramic valley views, while the master suite and private garden are afforded majestic hillside views.

This is our Cordillera home plan #6953 which evokes a strong Mediterranean influence with Terra Cotta roof tiles, carved limestone columns and corbels and cedar beamed pergola. This home's rear elevation is striking with it's dramatic stone clad arched roof element that silhouettes the home's Living Room. The home is embraced by a grand formal pool. Please view this homes floor plan at our website Saterdesign.com and see why this is one of our most popular luxury home plans...

The design objective for this six acre ocean view parcel in Montecito was to create a literal replication of an 1800's California hacienda. Four adobe structures define the central courtyard while secondary terraces and walled gardens expand the living areas towards the views and morning light. Simple, rustic details and traditional, handmade materials evoke a lifestyle of a distant era.
