This powder room is an essential room that is used mostly by guests. It was very lackluster with dated tile, unsightly storage area under the stairs and no wow factor.
Replaced the dated tile with white porcelain penny tile. Gave the wall a dose of pretty wallpaper and a fresh coat of paint. Added a stylish mirror and accessories and artwork to bring the room to life. Finally added a custom drapery panel to hide storage underneath stair well.

A look favoured since ancient times, monochrome floors are trending once again. Use Butler to recreate the chequerboard look with its striking marble graphic. The crisp white Calacatta and opulent dark Marquina tiles work well on their own too.

Bold wallpaper taken from a 1918 watercolour adds colour & charm. Panelling brings depth & warmth. Vintage and contemporary are brought together in a beautifully effortless way

This energizing, abstract design by Timorous Beasties is derived from brain scans on an orange background. The wallpaper injects interest and vitality into the small powder room space.

Echoing a fusion of modernity with elements of traditional design, this penthouse within a towering high-rise artfully pairs contemporary elegance with meaningful nods to its family’s Indian heritage. The 4000-square-foot home spread across two floors and four bedrooms has been designed for a couple in their early 40s, their daughter, and their parents who visit regularly. Upon entering the front door, one is greeted in the foyer below a floating staircase. The crystal light with brass detailing gives a visual peek into the brass accent points across the rest of the home—from the grouting within the marble flooring and brass inlay on the walls to the table legs and knobs on the furniture. A trio of gilded mirrors and a hand-carved console table sit beside an intricate Indian shoe cabinet—the first of many thoughtful fusions of new and old. The foyer features warm golden oak floors and custom brass inlaid tiles, setting the tone for refined materials to come.

Powder rooms should be exciting, and this is a wonderful example because rusty and salmon reds run throughout the clients collection of antique Persian rugs. Mr. Dodge chose a colorful floral wallpaper for this powder room and painted the ceiling the background color of the paper. And old chest of drawers was refurbished to house the sink and faucetry. The doors were reconfigured to go around the plumbing so that all of them were useful. A salmon Persian rug graces the floor.

This pink powder room (wall color is a custom color that started with Porter Paints Rose Pomander as the base) packs a lot of glamor into a small space. The vanity is a Franz Viegner Casablanca lavatory with a white ceramic bowl. The faucet is a Brizio Charlotte in Cocoa Bronze. The diagonal set marble floor tile is Travertine Mediterranean in Ivory Honed. The antiqued silver vanity mirror is from Sergio. Photo by Toby Weiss for Mosby Building Arts.
