I also love the floor. I would like to replicate this in a new build. Can you share details on how to replicate this look in detail please?

This is a great primer from the CCAA in Australia. Talk to your builder/concreter about this. It should be a relatively low-cost method to get a good-looking finish. http://www.ccaa.com.au/imis_prod/documents/Library%20Documents/CCAA%20Datasheets/DS2010Burnished.pdf

Spend… on lightingYour kitchen is one of the most used spaces in your home and the lighting can really make a difference to how it feels. Think about adding layers with LED task lighting under the wall units, as well as practical overhead fittings. Try to find a little give in your budget to accommodate great-quality, statement light fittings, such as a beautiful pendant. Special features, like the light-washed walls in this airy kitchen, are also worth considering during the planning stages.

Burnishing is a type of finish that is applied to a new concrete pour, before it is cured. A mechanical, powered trowel (helicopter) is used to create a finish that renders it with a level of sheen and the inconsistencies in colour are intended to form part of its appeal.Homes that get creative with concrete
