Allen's Fine Woodworking, Inc.
This kitchen is a prime example of beautifully designed functionality. From the spacious maple butcher block island & eating bar to the roll-up pass through window for outdoor entertaining, the space can handle whatever situation the owners throw at it. The Espresso stain on these Medallion cabinets of Cherry wood really anchors the whimsy of the yellow bar stools and the ginger-tone checkerboard Marmoleum floor. Cabinets designed and installed by Allen's Fine Woodworking Cabinetry and Design, Hood River, OR.

The original construction of our client’s house called for a formal dining area and a smaller kitchen not conducive to entertaining. As a fault of the space, one of the primary goals of this renovation project was to create a free flowing floor plan that utilizes maximum cabinet and countertop space.
We removed the wall separating the dining room and kitchen to allow for an enlarged footprint for the kitchen remodel. The kitchen’s 15 x 18 foot space, flows gracefully into the family room and extends into a breakfast area overlooking the backyard.

Renaissance Kitchen and Home
This newly construction Victorian styled Home has an open floor plan and takes advantage of it's spectacular oven view. Hand distressed cabinetry was designed to accommodate an open floor plan.
The large center Island separates the work side of the kitchen but adds visual interest by adding open shelving to the back of the island. The large peninsula bar was added to hide a structural column and divides the great room from the kitchen.

This kitchen remodel was a blast, and a huge challenge. We had to bring together old world with new in a seamless fashion, open up the space without changing the overall footprint, maintain the laundry room in a discreet location (behind the hutch!) and create a functioning work space that could also accommodate guests while prepping- all in a modest 200sq. ft. kitchen. Cottage green cabinets from Columbia Cabinets, Caesarstone cider counter tops, and a vivid cherry cayenne back bead board were used to create this traditional kitchen design with an earthy touch.

A small kitchen needs to be designed by being cognizant of every kitchen item the client owns and when the kitchen is only 90 sq ft, this can be quite challenging!
The original kitchen housed a double wall oven, cook top and 36” range. Since space was at a minimum and the client’s list for appliances was extensive (range, warming drawer, wine refrigerator, dishwasher, ref) we had to think quite creatively. We also had 2 doors to contend with and 2 focal points to create!
The first step was to move to a 27” wide refrigerator, this gained 9 additional inches of working counter space between the sink and refrigerator. Opting for a 24” wide single bowl sink over the original 30” netted a total of 15” for a tray divider cabinet and 39” of working counter space between the sink and the refrigerator!
The new 30” range was positioned as star on the same wall as the existing cook top. Since the space did not lend us the ability to balance the cabinet doors sizes on both sides of the hood, we chose a door style that focused your eyes not on the overall size of the door, but on the vertical detailing. The subtle grain of the Rift White Oak further minimized the odd sizing of the doors.
(NOTE: THE COLOURS OF THE KITCHEN ARE REPRESENTED PROPERLY IN THE PHOTO OF THE RANGE WALL)
To help create a visual width of the room – we used a glass tile set in a horizontal pattern. Our ultimate goal for this space was to create a calm and flowing space, all appliances are fully integrated to enhance the visual flow to the room.
