This tired apartment was in desperate need of a refresh, and Studio Lifestyling gave it a complete makeover. From new paint and hybrid timber floors to a modern kitchen update, we turned this space into a stylish, comfortable oasis.
We handpicked furniture, rugs, cushions, lighting, and art to create a cohesive look that feels inviting and relaxed. Our aim was to make every part of the apartment not just beautiful, but practical and easy to live in.
The end result is an apartment that’s both stylish and welcoming, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.

Studio Uno is an unexpected sanctuary for our client Naomi, a full-time carer and mother. Lying behind an established Brunswick terrace, it takes the shape of a meticulously designed Dependent Persons Unit.
Naomi lives with her adult daughter, who has very high support needs. The nature of their circumstances means that living together under one roof isn’t always feasible. Naomi needed a certified DPU that met a simple brief: a dismantlable but quality retreat with warm, robust materials and a calming ambience.
We’ve packed as much enduring quality and thoughtful design as possible into a compact footprint. Carefully engineered, the dwelling’s lightweight structure and internal linings enable it to be readily disassembled, transported and rebuilt elsewhere. It replaces the fence at the site’s rear, with its upper mass leaning into one corner to minimise impact on the neighbours’ skyscape. Inside, blackbutt timber and hoop pine plywood dominate the palette to create a warm, low-contrast and relaxing environment.
The ground floor features dual sliding doors connecting to the courtyard and laneway, with a versatile living area between for retreat, Naomi’s art practice and above all, peacefulness. Lining the wall is a simple kitchenette, cabinetry, and a clever door concealing the bathroom. A staircase leads to the loft bedroom above, made deliberately cosy and secluded by the dwelling’s tapered form. It’s punctured only by a small window to the lane and a skylight above, offering light and ventilation without compromising privacy.

Sally was asked to design and oversee the complete refurbishment of this stunning yet poorly converted one bedroom apartment set in a handsome period mansion block on the outskirts of Covent Garden in Central London.
Enormously high ceilings give this apartment a New York lofty feel while large original windows flood the space with natural light. Sally discovered that original windows and decorative pillars had been boarded up and so immediately set about reinstating these unique period features. A streamlined kitchen with expansive lightly veined worktops and contemporary oak cabinetry was designed to compliment a classic oak parquet floor, giving the apartment a light, contemporary and natural feel.
Rich tones of walnut, brushed brass, shades of tobacco and forest green leather, chocolate velvet and earthy linens were all added to create a layered and eclectic palette set against a backdrop of atmospheric teal and interesting off-beat light fittings.

La parete che divide la stanza da letto con il soggiorno diventa una libreria attrezzata. I pannelli scorrevoli a listelli creano diverse configurazioni: nascondono il televisore, aprono o chiudono l'accesso al ripostiglio ed alla zona notte.

This sylish living / study space fits within this 400 square foot studio flat. With the space saving wall bed put away, there is plenty of space for entertaining.

This was a rental flat we worked on this summer which was in a really dilapidated state, with blown plaster walls and leaks all over. Our task was to take a one bedroom problem flat and turn it into a clean and modern two bedroom flat

We sanded down the original hardwood floorboards throughout the property and added a lovely rich dark stain, making it both chic and cosy. The tongue and groove panelling really adds to the cosy cottage feel of the space. We replaced the fireplace hearth with warm limestone - both fresh and light. The furniture is mostly antiques. We opened up the wall between the living room and kitchen and created an archway with double pocket doors.
