Le pin thermochauffé est une bonne alternative. Plus onéreux que le pin autoclave et d’une durée de vie d’environ vingt ans, il est également plus agréable à l’œil et sous les pieds. Comme la rétification est un traitement onéreux, les pins retenus sont en effet de meilleure qualité, sans nœuds et plus denses, de type pins finlandais. La résine est éliminée par la chauffe, le bois est plus stable, sans dilatation. Il reste très raisonnable question budget.
