The Huot Residence in the Oriental WarehouseContemporary Bathroom, Atlanta
When it came to outfitting the bathrooms, Edmonds created a luxurious oasis with Axor Uno and Axor Starck fittings. Hansgrohe’s oversized Raindance Royale showerhead adds a shot of drama to the spacious shower area and completes the high-design look of the bath.

What Houzz contributors are saying:
3. Fixed overhead rain showerTopping the fashion stakes at the moment are ceiling-mounted rain showerheads, says Royston Wilson of Royston Wilson Design. These vary from large square or circular fittings flush-mounted in the ceiling or suspended from a pendant, to an entire ceiling of jets. However, cautions Wilson, as thrilling as showering in a pounding curtain of ‘rain’ is, not everyone enjoys raindrops falling on their heads. There’s somewhat of a gender divide over these deliciously drenching deluges (those with long hair will understand) and a compromise may be necessary. They are a favourite with men, but many women don’t want to wash out a good hair day every time they shower.
6. Waterfall washFed up with the feeble spray that greets you each morning? Then invest in an oversized showerhead and you’ll immerse yourself in the cascading drench that will refresh and awaken your sleepy self. A ceiling-mounted showerhead will enhance the spa-like experience and create a hefty downpour.
Although ‘rainforest’ shower heads are greatly in vogue, a separate shower head with capability to adjust height and flow direction is a must. Barnes installs a lot of hand showers in addition to primary shower heads. “A big bonus is that they make cleaning the shower area much easier.” TIP: Don’t you hate reaching through falling water to adjust the temperature before stepping in? Although mixers take out a lot of guesswork, make sure they are located a safe distance from the shower flow. Scalds are more likely – and more serious – on older skin or on those with poor circulation.
Celebrate the simple circleShower heads are traditionally circular, but contemporary designs take that shape and expand it to the max. The result is a huge column of water pouring onto your head. Quite a way to wake up in the morning…
1. A glass wall. A bathroom like this one will revolutionise your showering experience. Add a glass wall between your ensuite and main bedroom, plus an oversized rainforest showerhead for drama, and you’ve created a space with real impact.
