And this is only the prep sink area! Our clients wanted a clean, bright, contemporary-ish kitchen with a hint of traditional and country tossed in. The final product apparently seemed to fit the bill. With a kitchen of this size it's really imperative that one mixes materials in both the cabinetry and countertop realms otherwise it can become overwhelmingly boring. We used both granite and butcher block counters as well as a mix of painted and stained cabinetry. And because the focal point was really the cabinetry and tall ceilings, we chose not to use an attention-grabbing backsplash design. It was a good choice.
