The homeowner has a time share in Hawaii and wanted to bring some of his tropical time into his home with this Tiki bar. An old hutch was re-purposed for the back bar. New plumbing was run for the back bar sink and the slab was dug up to run electric to the front bar. The carved tiki's we found carved by an artist from Florida that sells them at a local fruit stand. The stools were purchased by the homeowner.

No living room is complete without a wet bar! That’s at least this client’s motto. This mid-century home’s front living room was missing just that. The living room included an unnecessarily large coat closet, so we converted this unused space into a custom bar. The concept here was tropical and fun so we covered the walls in a vibrant banana leaf wallpaper and painted the custom millwork a coordinating sea green. Tailored glass and brass pipe shelving completed the look.

Modern Rustic
Huge stacker doors and gas strut windows finished in monument mat black, open up the space. Timber accents in the fan, the bar top and bar ceiling (queensland maple), bring warmth to the bar. The varied greys and browns in the Travertine, laid in a french pattern, gives interest without distraction. The pressed metal panels to the front of the bar give a modern twist on an old fashioned English bar.
