The pedestal table design was originally developed by Eero Saarinen in an effort lighten the weight of 4-leg tables. In creating the pedestal shape the noise of the standard table was forever changed. The single pedestal offers more room for light and calm to flow through the room. This Tulip Table closely follows the specifications of the original design with a cast-aluminum base and an abrasion-resistant beveled edge laminate tabletop.
