Another kids' bedroom in the lower floor. Ceilings were created at 2700mm to provide spaciousness.

This new kids' bedroom was added in the lower floor. Windows were sourced from a house being demolished nearby that had been built at a similar time to this original home, and installed to match the upper floor.

The lower floor living/rumpus area. The high windows on the right look into the backgarden, and allow eastern light into this area (which is actually partially built into the ground). Doors open up to the garden. Visually and physically, it is connected with the other living areas of the home...

Ensuite was created by extending the existing bathroom. An existing window was retained, the mirror shaped around it. A his and hers shower (shower heads at both ends) provides great function to this space.

This was the original living space of the home, and where a decorative picture rail and ceiling were restored. It now acts as a sitting room / parents area / music room and is the first space you arrive in when you enter the home.

A study nook is created in the connection zone between the original old home and the new pavilion extension. It is possible to get out to the deck from this space too, and there is a bathroom located here. This means guests can walk straight through front door, into home, and outside ... and can...

A recessed zone was created in the living area for built in joinery. Glazing on the end of this space provides great supervision of the pool, and acts as a pool fence.

The deck ran along the full extent of the pavilion extension, but was only roofed for the zone of the outdoor dining area. A pool was located at the end of the extension in a corner of the garden. This enabled us to utilised the garden effectively, create a large, flat, grassed are for kids' play, and enable great supervision from indoor and outdoor living spaces to the pool.
