Victor Harbor
Contemporary Garden, Adelaide
Large double block garden on sandy topsoil over clay. Native plants together with a precise selection of exotic plants combine to give a structured but informal haven which, overtime will encircle the home in foliage.
The garden is aligned to take advantage of a long view over a lake to the hills beyond. The raised dias creates an entertainment space nestled into the established trees in the park at rear of the garden and creating a strong site line out to the hills. The lawn is maintained using a Husqvarna Robot Mower which mows silently every night at a fixed height creating a fine compost back into the soil. Retaining wall blocks were selected from the Hewnstone range to most closely resemble a cut version of the native limestone boulders on the site.
