This Victorian got a rehab and addition designed by Architect Kate Johns and built by Quatrefoil Builders. I did interior and exterior color and some interior design. The client called for a modern color palette beginning with an off black exterior- Benjamin Moore Deep Space. This is a modern interpretation of a Victorian. I also advised on decor including furniture, lighting, kitchen and bathroom materials and fixtures.

The remodelling and extension of a terraced Victorian house in west London. The extension was achieved by using Permitted Development Rights after the previous owner had failed to gain planning consent for a smaller extension. The house was extended at both ground and roof levels.

This photo gives you an even better look at how the siding, trim, and accent color choices harmonize and work off each other. The brown railings add a touch of earth color which works well with the nearby shrubs. The white which on the doors, window trims and latticework, adds a bright contrast to the darker color of the sidings. When painting latticework where plants are close by, we use drop cloths to protect them, when called for.

Here is a closeup view of the side of the house. This picture gives you some idea of the amount of exterior painting that was required. This photo also shows how shade can impact and change the look of a color. Your exterior color will look slightly different during different parts of the day. Here you can see how the shadow from the nearby tree makes the siding appear darker.

In this side view of the house, you can see how the owners chose to have the side railing painted in a natural brown. This helps to harmonize the exterior with the trees and the surrounding greenery. You’ll notice how some of the greenery touches the side of the house. We always ensure that no plants are damaged or spoiled by paint drips or ladder placement.

We recently painted the exterior of this magnificent three-story house in Cambridge. The owners chose a dramatic charcoal and white palette. This color scheme is generally considered very traditional and works exceedingly well on older style houses. The dark siding with white trim signifies durability, strength and dependability. It stands out from the surrounding greenery without being overpowering.

Here, you can see how much greenery is present near the porch. Painting this section of the house required extra attention to detail. As you can see, the large bush almost presses against the siding and windows. You’ll also notice how we color matched the top of the steps and front porch to the brown the homeowners chose for the railings and posts. This is a very effective way to merge a color scheme. Coupled with the white, it adds a welcoming touch to the entrance of the home.
