Wealden Hall House - Grade II Listed

Country Exterior, Surrey

More commonly found in Kent and East Sussex, a Wealden Hall House is of a medieval structural type. Timber framed, it is characterised by having an open hall which is flanked by floored jettied end bays, all under a single roof. The original house dates back to the 15th/ 16th Century. Whilst the features and the original layout of the original Hall House needed to be retained, permission was granted to demolish the Edwardian kitchen, replacing it with a contemporary, glazed extension. The light filled extension provides an open plan kitchen and family living and playing space, in addition to a snooker/ games room, utility and pantry. The orginal house has been fully renovated, sandblasting the exposed timber beams removing centuries of dust and decades of paint. One of our moved exceptional projects, the result is a stunning family home. For more details see our feature on our blog bit.ly/WealdenHall Photography: Andrew Beasley
