Renovating a historic home comes with a little extra responsibility. We custom matched the stained cherry racking, door hardware, and all the details to blend this under the stairs wine cellar seamlessly into its circa-1900 farmhouse surrounds.

The glassed-in wine room with stacked-stone walls features a Dacor by-the-glass wine dispenser and a custom backlit metal and wood wine rack to match the cabinetry in the adjacent kitchen. A series of arches leads the eye toward the vestibule of the master suite where a Bernhardt metal and stone console table sits beneath an oversized mirror framed with distressed silver leafing. The Fine Art Lamps ceiling fixture and the wall sconce pictured in the foyer both feature a silver leaf finish. Translucent mica shades diffuse the light.

The custom wine racks designed for a Boston home consists of horizontal displays, X cubes, wooden case openings, display rows, and diamond bin storage racks. The total capacity of this home wine cellar is 1,769 bottles. The wine racks were manufactured from Malaysian Mahogany. We applied Chappo stain and clear coat lacquer for a richer look. Compact wine cellars are gorgeous and such a fantastic addition to any home. This glass front wine cellar / glass wine cellar in Solana Beach, San Diego, California, is a perfect example of turning that under-utilized closet or niche space. Located directly off of the dining room, this modern wine cellar blends style and utility, incorporating features such as triple deep wine racking with glass, stone, wood, and stainless steel. A contemporary look melding perfectly with this more traditional style home. Design Build team at Vintage Cellars was also commissioned to create a unique and stylish wooden backing, to ensure that the metal wine pegs really popped. Custom walnut stain was placed on Alder wood paneling, custom fit with metal wine rack pegs from floor to ceiling. We worked directly with Noe Design Co to create a one of a kind entrance into this cellar. The highest quality stainless steel framing and double pane thermally insulated glass were placed on the front wall to not only maintain a beautiful look, but to also ensure that this wine room kept a perfect 55 degree temperature with constant relative humidity. We entered into our Primrose project knowing that we would be working closely with the homeowners to rethink their family’s home in a way unique to them. They definitely knew that they wanted to open up the space as much as possible. This renovation design begun in the entrance by eliminating most of the hallway wall, and replacing the stair baluster with glass to further open up the space. Not much was changed in ways of layout. The kitchen now opens up to the outdoor cooking area with bifold doors which makes for great flow when entertaining. The outdoor area has a beautiful smoker, along with the bbq and fridge. This will make for some fun summer evenings for this family while they enjoy their new pool. For the actual kitchen, our clients chose to go with Dekton for the countertops. What is Dekton? Dekton employs a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years. It is a crazy cool material to use. It is resistant to heat, fire, abrasions, scratches, stains and freezing. Because of these features, it really is the ideal material for kitchens. Above the garage, the homeowners wanted to add a more relaxed family room. This room was a basic addition, above the garage, so it didn’t change the square footage of the home, but definitely added a good amount of space. For the exterior of the home, they refreshed the paint and trimmings with new paint, and completely new landscaping for both the front and back. We added a pool to the spacious backyard, that is flanked with one side natural grass and the other, turf. As you can see, this backyard has many areas for enjoying and entertaining.

Floating wine bottle storage using aircraft tension cable wine racking created by Genuwine Cellars. This project holds ~300 bottles and boasts an impressive high ceiling, walkover wine bottle art, and a custom bar area. Design and implementation of this project was by Anthony's Glass in Nevada.
