How to Create Photorealistic Renders in 3D Floor Planner
When you create a 3D floor plan in Houzz Pro, you also have the ability to create photorealistic renders to help showcase your vision to clients.
Photorealistic renders turn your 3D floor plan into a true-to-life image representation of the project. It helps your client better envision the final product and get excited about moving forward with your business and your ideas.
Photorealistic renders are available for professionals with Essential, Pro, Ultimate and Custom packages.
It's easy to get started — Open up your 3D floor plan, adjust your camera settings, select your camera view, and generate your image.
How to Create a Photorealistic Render
1. Open up the relevant 3D floor plan (or create a new floor plan from scratch or from a template).
2. Be sure to view your floor plan in either Dollhouse or Walkthrough mode (photorealistic renders are not currently supported in Floor Plan mode).
3. Click the Camera icon from the menu on the right.
4. You are now in camera mode. Click Exit in the middle of your screen if you would like to leave this view.
Within camera mode, you can adjust your camera settings to frame the right shot, including:
- Camera Height: How high the camera is off the floor
- Camera Tilt: The angle of the camera
- Field of View: How zoomed in or zoomed out the camera is
- Camera Boundary: Shows/hides the camera boundary
- Distortion Correction: Straightens the camera perspective for a clearer image
You can adjust these settings by making changes in the toggle or the toggle bar.
Please Note: There are some limitations to certain camera settings. Camera tilt toggle bar is currently only available in Walkthrough mode. In Dollhouse mode, you can adjust the angle by left-clicking on your 3D plan and dragging your mouse. Distortion correction is only available in Walkthrough mode and is recommended for eye level or lower level camera angles only.
Once you get the angle and perspective you prefer, you can save your camera settings by clicking the New Camera button. Learn more about adjusting camera settings and editing camera views here.
5. Your new camera view will now appear in the Cameras section. If you are using a 3D floor plan template, some camera views will already be created for you.
Select the relevant camera angle, and click Generate Photorealistic Image.
6. A new screen will appear asking you to confirm the render composition. If you are happy with how it looks, click Generate. If you would like to make adjustments, click Cancel to continue editing.
7. Generating your photorealistic image typically takes a few minutes, so feel free to keep working on your floor plan while you wait. There will be a notification at the bottom of your screen to let you know it's still in process.
8. The notification at the bottom of your screen will also let you know it's complete. To access your photorealistic render, you can either click on View or access directly in that project's files.
9. You now have a photorealistic render to share with your client! Feel free to create renders from other angles of the room to give a more in-depth perspective of your design.
