How to Save Camera Views in 3D Floor Planner

As you are working on a 3D floor plan in Houzz Pro, you are able to save camera views of your design to better showcase your vision to clients.

Saved camera views are helpful when you would like to show clients a particular angle and perspective of your floor plan. If you have an Essential, Pro, Ultimate or Custom package, you can then turn your saved camera views into a photorealistic rendering. Learn more about photorealistic renderings here.

It's easy to get started — Open up your 3D floor plan, adjust your camera settings, save your camera view, and edit if needed.

How to Access Camera Mode

1. Open up the relevant 3D floor plan (or create a new floor plan from scratch or from a template).

2. Be sure to view your floor plan in either Dollhouse or Walkthrough mode (camera views are not currently supported in Floor Plan mode).

3. Click the Camera icon from the menu on the right.

How to Adjust Camera Settings

You are now in camera mode. Click Exit in the middle of your screen if you would like to leave this view.

Within camera mode, you can adjust your camera settings to frame the right shot, including:

  • Camera Height: How high the camera is off the floor
  • Camera Tilt: The angle of the camera
  • Field of View: How zoomed in or zoomed out the camera is
  • Camera Boundary: Shows/hides the camera boundary
  • Distortion Correction: Straightens the camera perspective for a clearer image

You can adjust these settings by making changes in the toggle or the toggle bar.

Please Note: There are some limitations to certain camera settings. Camera tilt toggle bar is currently only available in Walkthrough mode. In Dollhouse mode, you can adjust the angle by left-clicking on your 3D plan and dragging your mouse. Distortion correction is only available in Walkthrough mode and is recommended for eye level or lower level camera angles only.

Once you get the angle and perspective you prefer, you can save your camera settings by clicking the New Camera button.

How to Save Camera Views

When you select the New Camera button, your new view will now appear in the list under Cameras.

If you are using a default Houzz Pro template for your 3D floor plan, you will notice some camera views have already been added.

You can add as many camera views as you would like by changing your camera settings and selecting New Camera to save.

If you want to make changes to the camera settings of a saved camera view, adjust the camera settings to your preferred view in your 3D floor plan. You can then hover over the camera option and click Update. It will now display your new saved view.

You can also rename or delete a camera view by clicking the three dots icon and selecting the relevant action.

Once you've saved your camera views, you can turn it into a photorealistic rendering (for Essential, Pro, Ultimate or Custom pros only). To find out more about this feature, read How to Create a Photorealistic Rendering.
